Zelensky meets with Trump in Washington to bolster US support against Russia amid military escalation

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Washington on Tuesday to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House. The primary objective of the visit is to strengthen United States support for Ukraine amid an ongoing military escalation with Russia.

In addition to his diplomatic meetings, President Zelensky is in the United States to attend the funeral of Senator Lindsey Graham. The senator passed away suddenly on July 11 following a recent trip to Kyiv.
