AG postpones tenders for E1 settlement project; Smotrich accuses her of election meddling

Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara has postponed the tender deadlines for the controversial E1 settlement project until after the October 27 vote. The delay was implemented due to concerns regarding electioneering.

In response to the decision, far-right leader Bezalel Smotrich accused the Attorney General of election meddling. Smotrich argued that the tender process is apolitical and called on the election chief to intervene and prevent the Attorney General from becoming an active player in the electoral process.
