Authorities in Colombia have dismantled a criminal network that sold fraudulent Colombian identity documents (cédulas) to foreign nationals. The simultaneous operation, conducted across the cities of Bogotá, Barranquilla, and Neiva, resulted in the capture of 15 individuals.

Among the arrested suspects are three active officials from the Registraduría, the government body responsible for civil status and registry in Colombia. The syndicate facilitated the illegal acquisition of citizenship credentials, allowing foreigners to fraudulently assume Colombian identity.
