NewzKINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica’s Blaise Bicknell final hopes of glory were dashed as he and his doubles partner Andrew Fenty withdrew from their match against the Brazilian pair of Bruno Oliveira and Natan Rodriques on Wednesday night. Blaise, who lost both singles at the ATP Kingston 1 and 2 events, was hoping for a good run in the doubles but the Observer Online understood Fenty wanted to concentrate on his upcoming single match on Thursday evening against Brazilian Guto Miguel for a spot in the semi-finals. In other doubles games, the Australian pair of Calum Puttergill and Ajeet Rai defeated Ivan Liutarevich of Belarus and Miguel Reyes-Varela of Mexico 5-7, 6-3, 13-11.
The number one seeds Arthur Reymond and Luca Sanchez of France turned back the American pair of Joshua Sheehy and Tyler Zink 6-4, 6-2. The number three-seeded Indians Siddant Banthia and Arjun Kadhe beat Americans Garrett Johns and Karl Poling 7-6, 6-3. Playing on the Grandstand Court, Alexander Donski of Bulgaria and Dan Martin of Canada dismissed the Brazilian pair of Igor Marcondes and Marcelo Zormann 7-5, 3-6, 10-5 in one hour and twenty minutes.
On Court 1, another Brazilian pair went crashing out as Luis Britto and Paulo Dos Santos lost to Juan Bianchi of Venezuela and Kody Pearson of Australia 6-3, 2-6, 8-10.
