Diplomats demand explanations from the Foreign Ministry regarding the possible closure of embassies and consulates

Career diplomats and consular officials in Colombia have formally requested explanations and a meeting with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Cancillería) regarding a potential reduction and closure of diplomatic missions and consulates abroad.

The Union of Career Diplomatic and Consular Officials of Colombia (Unidiplo) took action following reports of the possible downsizing of the country's international presence, seeking direct clarification from the government regarding the future of these overseas posts.
