Dominican woman in the Bronx was murdered one day before traveling to the Dominican Republic

Josefa Soto, a 57-year-old Dominican woman living in the Bronx, was found dead in her apartment on Friday, August 21, just one day before she was scheduled to travel back to the Dominican Republic.

Soto had planned to make the long-awaited trip alongside her son, fulfilling a dream of returning after several years of being unable to do so.
