Trepy, a Cagliari player, leaves the ICU after improving from a swimming pool accident

Yael Trepy, the French forward for Italian Serie A club Cagliari, has been discharged from the Intensive Care Unit (UCI) of the Santissima Annunziata Hospital in Sassari, Sardinia. The transfer out of the UCI follows a significant improvement in his clinical condition after he suffered a near-drowning accident in a swimming pool.

Trepy's recovery progressed after he successfully awoke from a medically induced coma that had been administered two days prior to his transition out of critical care. The club officially confirmed his improving health and departure from the ICU through a statement released on Friday.
