Vox celebrates the suspension of voting rights for those registered under the 'grandchildren law': "We have stopped the coup"

The Spanish Supreme Court has issued a precautionary suspension affecting the voting rights and registrations of individuals incorporated into the Cereal Electoral de Residentes Ausentes (CERA) under the so-called 'ley de nietos' (grandchildren law). The decision has immediately drawn sharply contrasting political reactions in Spain.

Vox, through its congressional spokesperson Pepa Rodríguez de Millán, celebrated the judicial ruling, framing the suspension as a major political victory with the statement 'Hemos detenido el golpe' (We have stopped the coup).

Conversely, the Spanish government publicly distanced itself from the judiciary's action. Government spokesperson Elma Saiz stated that the administration does not share the Supreme Court's decision to suspend the registrations under the legislation.
