AMP - The first judge in the 'Leire Díez case' hands over the investigation to the National Court, which will assume the entire case

The initial judge overseeing the Madrid investigation into the 'Leire Díez case,' identified as Arturo Zamarriego, has officially agreed to step aside and remit the entire cause to the Audiencia Nacional. The case centers on alleged maneuvers by former socialist militant Leire Díez to obtain compromised information and conduct actions against judges, prosecutors, and commanders of the Guardia Civil and UCO.

With this decision, the Audiencia Nacional is set to assume the investigation in its entirety. The proceedings, which had been under Madrid's jurisdiction for roughly a year, will now be handled by a magistrate at the national court, specifically Judge Pedraz, following Zamarriego's formal inhibition.
