We expect justice in the case against Fernando Farías Laguna, says Sheinbaum: “There is a very solid investigation file.”

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum called for justice during a press appearance on Thursday in Mexico City regarding the legal proceedings against former Navy officer Fernando Farías Laguna. Farías Laguna, a former rear admiral of the Secretariat of the Navy, is accused by the Attorney General's Office (FGR) of leading a network involved in fiscal fuel smuggling, commonly known as huachicol fiscal.

Sheinbaum emphasized that her administration expects a fair outcome in the case, noting that authorities have compiled a very solid investigative file against the former military commander regarding the multi-million-dollar illicit operation that operated within the country.
