An 89-year-old man, the second fatality in Andalusia from the West Nile virus

An 89-year-old man has died in Seville, Andalusia, after being diagnosed with the West Nile virus. This marks the second fatality from the virus recorded in the region for the year 2026.

The victim, who had pre-existing medical conditions, resided in Guadalema de los Quintero, a district of Utrera, and had been hospitalized prior to his death.
