FDA licenses first-of-its-kind blood plasma, could help save lives where frozen versions can’t

The Food and Drug Administration has licensed the first freeze-dried blood plasma product for use in the United States, giving patients a transfusion option that doesn’t require the freezers, thawing time or glass packaging conventional plasma needs.
