FDA moves to ban 2 controversial food dyes, leaves 6 more common ones on voluntary phase-out

The Food and Drug Administration has banned two food dyes at the center of a long fight over synthetic additives, even as six far more common dyes remain on store shelves under a voluntary phase-out.
