Feijóo asks the EU for the "immediate return" of the immigrants from Ceuta and to mediate so that Rabat complies with accepting them.

Alberto Núñez Feijóo, leader of the Spanish People's Party (PP), requested that the European Union intervene to facilitate the immediate return of migrants who entered Ceuta irregularly in late July. During a meeting with the European Commissioner for Home Affairs and Migration, Magnus Brunner, Feijóo urged the EU to mediate with Morocco to ensure the country honors its commitments to accept the return of these individuals.

In response, Minister of Culture Ernest Urtasun criticized the PP's position, labeling it hypocritical. Urtasun argued that the PP advocates for the return of migrants while simultaneously refusing to accept the relocation of these individuals to the Spanish autonomous communities where the party holds power. He maintained that the redistribution of migrants within Spanish territory remains an essential solution to the situation in Ceuta.
