Former Chelsea owners Boehly, Walter sell holdings to Clearlake

Todd Boehly and Mark Walter have sold their minority stakes in Chelsea Football Club to majority owner Clearlake Capital, granting Clearlake full control of the Premier League club. The transaction, announced on Wednesday in London, concludes the involvement of the American billionaires who had previously partnered with Clearlake to acquire the team.

Following the buyout, Clearlake assumes total ownership of the club. Boehly, who also co-owns the Los Angeles Dodgers, reflected on his tenure by stating that it had been an honor to serve as Chelsea chairman.
