The Burgohondo (Ávila) fire lowers its danger level two weeks after it started

The wildfire in Burgohondo, Ávila, has been downgraded to a Level 1 potential severity index after burning for two weeks. The blaze, which is described as the largest in Spanish history, has resulted in the destruction of more than 50,000 hectares. The Junta de Castilla y León confirmed the reduction in the severity level on Wednesday, August 5.

Simultaneously, authorities have successfully brought a separate wildfire in Almorox, Toledo, under control. While progress is being made in these areas, firefighting efforts remain active as two additional fires have been reported in the provinces of Huelva and Cádiz.
