Three-year-old bay filly Giving Thanks reminded everyone of her Classic class with a dominant return to the winners’ circle in a Restricted Allowance II for native-bred three-year-old fillies (non-winners of two) at Caymanas Park on Saturday, September 5, 2026. Trained by Philip Feanny and ridden by Bebeto Harvey, Giving Thanks toyed with her rivals to win the 5-furlong (1,000m) straight contest by 5½ lengths. It was a welcome result after a fairly competitive Classic season.
Giving Thanks finished third in the 1000 Guineas and second in the Jamaica Oaks earlier this year. She showed her intent early, disputing the lead with Pippa (Tajay Suckoo), Imaginearium (Paul Francis), and Following Wave (Tevin Foster). Giving Thanks maintained her gallop strongly throughout, and it was only inside the final furlong that she found another gear.
Harvey gave her rein and she sprinted clear, leaving the competition chasing shadows. She crossed the line ahead of Pippa in second and Delta Gamma (Tyrese Anderson) in third. The winning time was 1:01.0, with splits of 23.3 x 47.3.
With Classic form behind her and an easy win under her belt, Giving Thanks could now be set for tougher assignments as the season progresses. She is bred by Bern Identity out of the Storm Craft mare Lightning Lily.
