Peruvian Foreign Minister Carlos Espá announced that Pope León XIV will visit Peru from November 11 to 17. The government characterizes the upcoming visit as a "balsam" intended to foster national reconciliation among the Peruvian people.

The announcement was made in Lima on August 5. The visit is being presented by the administration of President Keiko Fujimori as a significant event for the country's social and political climate.
