The National Geographic Institute (IGN) has recorded 1,279 seismic events in the metropolitan area of Granada, Spain, over a two-week period. The activity began following a magnitude 5.0 earthquake with an epicenter in Alhendín, which occurred at 1:04 a.m. on August 15.
