Heavy rain and flooding kill at least 62 in northern India

At least 62 people have died following three days of heavy rainfall and subsequent flooding in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Officials confirmed the death toll on Monday, noting that the severe weather has caused significant destruction across the region.

In addition to the fatalities, the state government reported that 46 individuals sustained injuries due to the floods. The weather event has also resulted in extensive property damage, with more than 1,000 houses reported as damaged throughout the affected districts.
