Heavy rain kills at least 17 across western Nepal

Heavy rainfall across western Nepal has resulted in the deaths of at least 17 people and displaced 1,451 individuals, according to police reports.

The severe weather triggered floods and landslides that caused widespread property damage. A total of 179 houses were completely destroyed, while 26 others sustained partial damage.

Authorities report that an additional 270 houses remain at risk as severe weather conditions continue to threaten the region.
