Honduras has officially requested that the United States grant additional time for approximately 55,000 Honduran migrants to prepare for their return following the termination of their Temporary Protected Status (TPS). Honduran President Nasry 'Tito' Asfura stated that his administration respects Washington's decision not to extend the humanitarian program.

The request comes as the affected individuals face the impending loss of their temporary legal status, necessitating an orderly transition period for repatriation. The diplomatic appeal underscores the logistical and humanitarian challenges facing thousands of Honduran nationals residing in the United States as the TPS mandate concludes.
