Indian Railways set to get indigenous 280 kmph bullet trains by early 2027

The Indian Railways is preparing to introduce indigenous bullet train technology capable of reaching speeds of 280 kmph by early 2027. This initiative marks a significant advancement in the nation's rail infrastructure, aiming to modernize high-speed transit capabilities within the country.

The initial phase of this project is scheduled to commence with the operational launch of the Surat–Bilimora section of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train corridor. Current projections indicate that this specific segment is expected to be functional by August 2027.
