Inevitable veto power? 4 European nations back India’s permanent UN seat bid

During the UNGA high-level week, four European nations—Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, and Czechia, collectively known as the V4—held their first ministerial-level meeting with India in a new V4+India format.

During these discussions, the four European nations backed India's bid for a permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council, raising questions regarding inevitable veto power. Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar described the gathering as a "new historic occasion" and noted that the talks spanned political and economic areas.
