Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Esmail Baqaei, has officially denounced the new economic sanctions recently announced by the United States against Tehran.

Tehran contends that the measures violate international law and infringe upon the sovereignty of third-party states. According to Iranian officials, the repercussions of these unilateral economic restrictions extend far beyond the scope of a standard bilateral dispute.
