Iraq seizes millions in corruption case involving deputy electricity minister

Iraq's Federal Commission of Integrity and the Iraqi judiciary have conducted major operations involving the seizure of significant amounts of money, gold, and luxury assets in high-profile corruption cases tied to senior energy officials.

In one case, authorities seized a substantial amount of money and gold from houses belonging to Khalid Ghazai Attiya, the Deputy Electricity Minister for Transmission and Distribution Affairs. In a separate operation, officials officially confiscated $20.3 million in cash, 60 kilograms of gold, 200 million Iraqi dinars, and seven luxury vehicles in connection with the widening corruption case of Adnan al-Jumaili, the Deputy Oil Minister for Refining Affairs.
