Joel Santos leads CUED to address distribution losses

On Wednesday, Minister of Energy and Mines Joel Santos assumed the presidency of the Unified Council of Electricity Distribution Companies (CUED) in the Dominican Republic. In this new leadership role, Santos will exercise direct supervision over the country's three main electricity distribution companies: Edenorte, Edesur, and Edeeste.

The leadership transition comes at a critical time for the nation's energy sector, as the council faces ongoing challenges related to operational and financial losses within electricity distribution. Through his oversight of Edenorte, Edesur, and Edeeste, Santos is positioned to directly address and manage these distribution deficits.
