Zuhaimi Md Yusof, the Bersatu candidate in the Juasseh state seat, said he wanted to bring more facilities to the area, including bank ATMs.KUALA PILAH: Bersatu’s candidate for the Juasseh state seat, Zuhaimi Md Yusof, has pledged to bring popular food and retail franchises to the area if he wins the seat at the Negeri Sembilan state election on Aug 1.Zuhaimi said the move was aimed at boosting the local economy and creating job opportunities, especially for the youth and SPM leavers waiting for their results or further studies. The candidate, better known as Cik Mie, also said he was prepared to use his own funds to open a franchise business if no investors were willing to do so. Among the franchises he proposed were KFC, FamilyMart and C Mart.“Young people here have to go to Bahau or Kuala Pilah if they want to eat KFC. God willing, if I win, we will try to bring in franchises that are popular among youths," he said.“If no one is willing to invest, I am prepared to use my own capital to open a franchise that young people like,” he said during a campaign event with Bersatu secretary-general Azmin Ali.Zuhaimi said he also wanted to bring more facilities to the area, including bank ATMs, which he said were currently unavailable in the constituency.
"I will work to install at least one ATM in Juasseh. At present, residents have to go to Batu Kikir to use an Affin Bank ATM," he said.Zuhaimi's rivals for the seat are Ismail Lasim of Barisan Nasional and Aidil Abdullah of Pakatan Harapan. The seat was won in 2023 by BN candidate Bibi Sharliza Khalid who defeated Eddin Syazlee Shith of Perikatan Nasional by 78 votes.
