A report from the OECD titled 'Panorama general de la economía espacial en 2026' indicates that the global space economy generated between $550 billion and $600 billion in revenue during 2025. This growth places the sector in a position comparable to the global semiconductor industry, with the United States currently serving as the primary leader in launch activity and technological innovation.

Simultaneously, the regulatory landscape for space activities has expanded significantly. Over the last decade, the number of countries implementing space-related regulations has increased by 50%, with nearly 60 nations expected to have such frameworks in place by 2025.
