Marlaska returns to Ceuta this Monday while thousands of migrants remain on the streets and tension grows in the city

Spanish Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska is scheduled to travel to Ceuta on Monday to inspect resources and facilities established to accommodate migrants. The visit follows the irregular arrival of thousands of migrants from Morocco in late July.

Despite the deployment of housing resources, thousands of migrants remain unassigned to shelters, continuing to camp out on the streets and beaches of the city. The situation has contributed to a growing level of tension within the municipality.
