Woman attacked in La Vega had a prior order against her attacker

Nayely Altagracia Capellán survived a near-fatal attack in La Vega, Dominican Republic, committed by an aggressor with whom she shared a history of abuse. According to her mother, the violent incident was not an isolated event but rather the culmination of an ongoing pattern of mistreatment and threats within the relationship.

Despite the family previously seeking legal protection in 2023 by obtaining an official order from the Prosecutor's Office against the attacker, the measures failed to prevent the escalation of violence that nearly cost Capellán her life.
