Nepal floods trauma 'enormous': Red Cross

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) reports that the recent flooding in Nepal and Tibet has resulted in an enormous level of trauma for the affected population. Early estimates indicate that approximately 93,000 people have been impacted by the disaster and are currently in urgent need of humanitarian assistance.

As the world's largest humanitarian network, the IFRC is coordinating relief efforts in the region. While the full scope of the catastrophe is still being assessed, the organization has expressed significant concern regarding the rising death toll and the scale of the humanitarian crisis facing those displaced or affected by the floods.
