NS Power says billing ‘back to normal’ after cyberattack, so it’s bringing back late fees

Nova Scotia Power announced plans to resume charging late fees in October, marking the first time the utility will levy such charges since a cyberattack disrupted its billing operations in spring.

The utility suspended late fees following the cyberattack that disrupted normal billing procedures earlier in the year. With billing systems now reported as restored to normal operations, Nova Scotia Power determined it was appropriate to reintroduce the late payment penalties.
