Tropical wave forms in the Atlantic and poses no threat to the Dominican Republic

The United States National Hurricane Center (NHC) reported on Monday that a tropical wave has moved off the western coast of Africa and begun moving across the Atlantic. The system's probability of cyclone formation over the next seven days has been increased to 60 percent as it continues to organize.

Despite the elevated formation probability and the active tracking of the system, authorities confirmed that the tropical wave currently poses no immediate threat to the Dominican Republic. Meteorological agencies continue to monitor the progression of the system across the Atlantic basin.
