Tropical wave forms in the Atlantic and poses no threat to the Dominican Republic

The United States National Hurricane Center (NHC) reported on Monday that a tropical wave has moved off the western coast of Africa and is beginning to track across the Atlantic. According to the meteorological agency, the system's probability of cyclone formation within the next seven days has increased to 60 percent as it continues to organize.

Despite the heightened development potential in the open Atlantic, authorities have confirmed that the system currently poses no immediate threat to the Dominican Republic. Monitoring of the system's progression will continue by weather officials as it advances westward.
