Pack Plays put on a front-running masterclass to capture the $1.75-million None Such Sprint Trophy feature at Caymanas Park on Saturday. Conditioned by Ricardo Mathie and ridden by Emelio McLean, the five-year-old American-bred dark bay-brown colt broke sharply and went straight to the lead. He set honest fractions ahead of Dothraki with Shaheem Gordon aboard, and California Crown under Abigail Able.

Pack Plays travelled comfortably down the backstretch, then kicked on entering the half-mile turn. Turning for home with a merry gallop, Pack Plays opened up in the lane and was never in danger. He crossed the line two and a half lengths clear in a final time of 1:10.3 for the six-furlong (1,200m) Graded Stakes/Open Allowance contest.

Dothraki held second, with California Crown third. Jason DaCosta saddled three winners to take the trainers’ honours on the 10-race card. DaCosta’s winners were Purosangue in the second race and Formalist in the six race, both ridden by Robert Halledeen, and Fidelity, ridden by Tevin Foster, in the seventh race.
