PORTLAND, Jamaica—A 33-year-old labourer of Union district, Hope Bay, Portland, has slapped with multiple charges including rape, buggery, unlawful wounding, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and robbery following two separate incidents in Portland. Reports are that on Friday, June 26, about 3:00 am, Maurice Graham reportedly met a woman at a party in Cardar Park, Port Antonio, Portland and while in the company of the woman, he allegedly used a knife and stabbed her in the forehead. Graham then proceeded to sexually assault the woman before fleeing the scene.
In another instance, on Monday, July 13, on West Palm Avenue, Port Antonio, Portland, about 4:30 am, Graham reportedly shoved a woman to the ground and sexually assaulted her before taking her cell phone valued at $US 300. A report was made to the police, and an operation was subsequently conducted on Saturday, August 22, along Sommers Town Road in Port Antonio, resulting in Graham’s apprehension and subsequent charge. He is scheduled to appear before the Port Antonio Parish Court on Tuesday, September 1.
