Capcom has officially confirmed that the upcoming expansion, Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, will feature a dedicated hard mode designed for experienced players. While the expansion is scheduled for release on October 9, this specific difficulty setting will not be available at launch and will be added via a subsequent update. The content is slated for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch 2.

In separate industry developments, the survival game Project Zomboid has experienced a surge in popularity, reaching a record of 121,603 concurrent players on Steam as of August 2, 2026. This milestone follows the July 29 release of the stable Build 42 update by developer The Indie Stone, which included significant revisions to the game's map.
