Puerto Rico requests agricultural emergency due to drought

Pablo José Hernández, the resident commissioner of Puerto Rico in Washington, announced on Friday that he has formally requested an agricultural emergency declaration from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

The request targets 29 municipalities across the island that are currently experiencing severe agricultural impacts due to drought conditions affecting local crops and farmland.
