NGOs urge Mexico to create a national care system in the face of structural shortcomings

Vice President Raquel Peña confirmed the deaths of at least three newborns at the Maternidad Nuestra Señora de La Altagracia due to a bacterial infection. The announcement was made on Thursday in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Peña expressed her condolences regarding the fatalities. She further stated that the government, acting through the Ministry of Public Health, is actively addressing the situation following the confirmation of the bacterial outbreak at the maternity hospital.
