Smotrich to again increase state fuel subsidies to counter rise in gas prices

Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich is set to increase state fuel subsidies once again in an effort to counter rising gasoline prices. The decision follows a similar intervention by Smotrich earlier in September.

While the previous measure was approved by the prime minister's legal advisor, it faced criticism from the Treasury's professional echelon, who viewed the move as unwise.
