More than 1,000 missing after flash flood between Nepal and Tibet

Authorities in Nepal have recovered 162 bodies following a massive flash flood in the Himalayas that struck the border region with China. The fatalities are concentrated primarily in the districts of Chitwan, where 64 bodies were found, along with 27 in Dhading and 26 in Nawalparasi East.

In addition to the confirmed fatalities, rescue and recovery operations are ongoing as more than 500 individuals remain reported missing in the wake of the disaster.
