A 63-year-old Hialeah man is facing a felony charge after deputies said he called in bomb threat to the Salvation Army in northwest Miami-Dade.According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, a woman working at the front desk of the Salvation Army located at 1907 NW 38th St. when she received two calls from the same number, saying the man on the phone requested to speak with a specific case worker supervisor. The woman told deputies the name associated with the phone number was displayed as “Alex Boom.” On the second call, authorities said the woman put the man on speaker, and that’s when she and a second witness heard him say, “You know who I am, there’s a live bomb in the building.”The building was subsequently evacuated and searched for explosive devices by MDSO K9 units, deputies said.
After several hours, the building was deemed safe and people were allowed back inside. Investigators determined that the phone number where the calls came from belonged to Juan Carlos Siblia-Lopez, who deputies said lived with his mother in Hialeah. According to an arrest form, Siblia-Lopez confirmed that his phone was registered under the name “Alex Boom” and later confessed to calling in the bomb threat.
He was then charged with falsely reporting a bomb threat. 4, 2021, to conduct a welfare check and found an unresponsive man wrapped in a blanket.The man, identified as Lenoris Henry Marlowe, 45, had stab wounds on his body and was pronounced dead at the scene by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue medics, authorities said.“For over five years, detectives worked tirelessly to uncover what happened and bring justice to the victim’s friends and family,” MDSO officials said in a news release. “Through investigative means, detectives identified the subject as Mr. Ekong admitted to detectives that he stabbed the victim.”Court records show Ekong is already serving a life sentence for another case in which he was convicted of armed robbery.
