Tanzania: Textile Investment Helps Tanzania Close Its Manufacturing Gap

Tanzania currently produces more cotton than its domestic textile industry is able to process, resulting in the export of the majority of its cotton lint. Meanwhile, local garment factories and fashion designers are forced to import fabric from outside the country.

New textile investments are expected to help close this industrial gap within Tanzania. The developments are anticipated to generate manufacturing jobs and allow the country to retain more economic value domestically.
