This Singapore designer turns discarded eggshells from a carrot cake hawker into homeware

Singapore-based designer Eden Loh has developed a method to repurpose discarded eggshells sourced from a local carrot cake hawker stall, Carrot Cubes, into functional homeware. By collecting the waste material, Loh transforms the eggshells into a composite substance used to manufacture items such as planters, plates, and egg trays.

The initiative highlights creative approaches to local waste management and circular design within Singapore's food and hawker culture sectors, giving single-use kitchen refuse a second life as durable consumer goods.
