Türkiye condemns Houthi drone attack targeting Mecca

On Wednesday, the governments of Türkiye and Qatar issued formal condemnations of a drone attack launched by Houthi forces targeting the holy city of Mecca. Both nations characterized the incident as an act of aggression against sacred sites, emphasizing the necessity of protecting the security of religious locations and their visitors from regional conflicts.

In its official response, Türkiye reaffirmed its commitment to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Saudi Arabia. Qatar similarly denounced the strike as a shameful act, reiterating that the sanctity of holy sites must remain outside the scope of military hostilities.
