Thousands of people demonstrate in Ceuta in defense of the city during the migration crisis

On September 2, thousands of people took to the streets of Ceuta to demonstrate in defense of the autonomous city amidst an ongoing migration crisis. The mobilization coincided with the city's official day and was called by the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) to show solidarity and support in response to the situation.

Concurrently on the same day, the mutual aid association Redes de Apoyo Mutuo raised concerns regarding vulnerable populations affected by the crisis. The group reported that 85 women and 10 children were left waiting outside a newly established temporary reception facility located adjacent to the area's primary immigrant temporary stay center (CETI).
