US introduces new Iran-related sanctions, now on Russia's VTB

The United States government announced new sanctions on Monday targeting Russia's VTB Bank Public Joint Stock Company. The U.S. issued the measures based on allegations that the financial institution has been involved in facilitating the evasion of existing Iranian sanctions.
