After more than 9 months at sea, the USS Abraham Lincoln arrives in Thailand

The U.S. Navy Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln docked at the Laem Chabang port in Chonburi province, Thailand, on Wednesday. The arrival marks the end of a deployment in the Middle East that kept the vessel at sea for more than 250 to 280 days, spanning a period of over nine months.

The extended mission represents a record-setting deployment for the carrier. Journalists and observers at the scene noted that the ship appeared to have large blotches of rust on its hull above the waterline and along its edges following the grueling months-long operation.
