Vivas calls for the "fortification" of the Ceuta border in the European Parliament's Home Affairs Committee

On Thursday, the president of the autonomous city of Ceuta, Juan Jesús Vivas, appeared before the European Parliament's Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (Interior Committee) in Brussels to demand the "shielding" of the Spanish enclave's border with Morocco.

Vivas described the local border as "the border of all" Europeans and emphasized that the population in the territory feels saddened or distressed. To address the situation, he called for a significantly greater allocation of both personnel and material resources to secure the area.
